This village, which nestles in the eastern sector of the Sierra Mágina district looking towards the Sierra de Cazorla Mountains and the Guadiana Menor river, is set in surroundings of arid and eroded lands which are one of the most unique natural environments in the province. Half of its municipal area is farm land where herbaceous species predominate and which are almost double the surface area under olive trees. The areas of uncultivated land are divided up between permanent pastures, forests, wild thyme and clumps of esparto grass. Livestock rearing, mainly of sheep, rounds off Cabra de Santo Cristo's economic dependence on the agricultural sector. Its 16th century parish church houses the famous canvas of the Cristo de Burgos while Juan de Aranda and López de Rojas took part in its design and construction. This has been an Historical Monument since 1985. The baroque style so-called Casa Grande Mansion (17th century) is also interesting from an historical and artistic point of view.
