Population: 3330 Altitude (m): 718 A little village right in the centre of the Sierra Sur district, knestling between mountains to the south and east, and rolling countryside to the north and west. Its municipal area is overwhelmingly agricultural, mainly given over to olive growing which, along with olive mills, are the village's main economic activities. Only a small part of the municipal area is not farmed. Furniture upholstering is especially important to Fuensanta de Martos due to the sheer volume of business and the amount of jobs it creates, making it very important within Andalusia. Raising and fattening pigs in sheds is another important activity, and the village is the third largest producer in the province. The very somber church of Nuestra Seņora de la Fuensanta, built in the 16th century in the renaissance style, is an outstanding example of the village's historical heritage.
