This village, which belongs to the Alto Guadalquivir district, extends from the centre of the district right down to the south, up to the provincial border with Granada. There is a mountainous sector inside it, to the north and north east, with patches of olive trees mixed in with pine plantations down on the lower reaches. This precise spot is a part of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas Natural Park. The rest of the territory is much less harsh country heading down towards Guadiana Menor river, with poor land given over to pastures, scrubland, wild thyme and clumps of esparto grass. Although farmed land is very limited, the economy of Huesa does still depend on olive growing and, to a lesser extent, on livestock and forestry. As an example of the historical heritage of this upland village we must mention the parish church of Nuestra Seņora de la Cabeza, erected in the 18th century.
