A municipal area located in the south of the northern district with an almost entirely flat territory which has a typical local country landscape filled with olive groves. Jabalquinto also has some irrigated farm land on the plains next to the Guadalimar and Guadalquivir rivers. The village centre is set on top of a ridge from where one can enjoy quite a wide view all around. The main economic activity is agriculture based overwhelmingly on olive growing, as well as industrial scale herbaceous crops, such as beetroot and cotton. Jabalquinto's proximity to towns like Linares and Bailén bring employment opportunities for the working population. Its outstanding architectural treasures are the parish church of the Encarnación, which was built during the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, and which has an interesting renaissance frontage, and the Jabalquinto palace, work on which started in the 15th century by the Benavides family and continued by the Condes de Benavente in later centuries.
