Porcuna is situated to the south west of the Campiña district, bordering onto the neighbouring province of Córdoba. Its entire territory is farmed land, and it has the largest extension of olive trees in the Campiña, clearly showing its economic dependence on agriculture, above all this crop and its ancillary processing. Wheat, leguminous plants and sunflower crops ocuppy those lands given over to herbaceous plants. Other important activities are carpintery, polyester manufacturing, boilermaking and natural stoneworking. Porcuna has an interesting archaeological park -Cerrillo Blanco- a tartessian period necropolis with 24 tombs later re-used by the Iberians. Other noteworthy sites are the Torreón de Boabdil tower, with its octagonal floor plan, the hermitage of San Benito, where gothic, baroque and mudejar styles are mixed together, and the parish church of Nuestra Señora de La Asunción.
