Puente de Génave is a little village located in the Sierra de Segura district, slightly to its northwest. It is a profoundly agricultural village, dependent on olives and to a lesser extent cereals and other herbaceous crops. There is some rather outstanding ecological olive growing and some hotel and catering too, which takes advantage of the village's strategic location as a set stop on the way into the Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park. There is abundant small game hunting and one can fish in the river Guadalimar which also goes through the village itself. The most remarkable examples of its Historical heritage are: the 19th century bridge over the Guadalimar, the Roman bridge, nowadays in ruins, The Local Council, a regionalist style building from the begining of the 20th century, and the church of San Isidro Labrador; this was built in the 19th century and has a simple frontage, flanked by pilasters and rounded off by a triangular pediment.
