Santisteban del Puerto is a village belonging to the El Condado district of which it takes up a central fringe on a south-north axis up to the provincial border with Albacete. There are abundant natural spaces within its municipal area, especially up on the more mountainous part in its the half north. Most of its surface area is not farmed, and woodbearing hills and natural meadows predominate, found towards the north of the municipal area. Farmed land is basically given over to olive groves. Economic activity revolves around olive mills, sheep rearing activity game and small fowl hunting, not to mention the hotel and catering trade. The church of Santa María del Collado, built in the 15th century, although altered in the 18th, displays a mixture of renaissance, baroque and plateresque styles and has been declared an Historical Monument: The 15th century gothic style church of San Esteban is also worth mentioning.
