A village located in the central area of the Sierra de Segura district. It is mainly mountainous territory with forestry plantations, while farm land makes up a mere fifth of the municipal area and with olive trees being the predominant crop. Segura de la Sierra, a large upland area belonging to the Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park, has a total of 13 inhabited settlements, all of which are very small and situated in magnificent natural surroundings. The village's economic activity is shaped by the presence of olive groves, livestock, forestry plantations and nursery as well as by tourism, with this last sector perhaps being that which brings in most earnings for local people. The natural and Historical wealth of the village makes Segura de la Sierra a must for all tourists who are game enough to wander into the Natural Park.
