Sorihuela del Guadalimar is a little village on the south-eastern edge of the El Condado district which has a territorial enclave to the north east of La Loma. Forests cover half the total municipal area, mainly in the aformentioned enclave. Farmed land, with olive trees being the dominant crop, is found in the main municipal area. The village's economic activity is supported by agriculture, and is dependent on olive growing, olive mills and tourism, as part of the area belongs to the The Sierras de Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas Natural Park. Outstanding monuments among Sorihuela del Guadalimar's architectural treasures are the parish church of Santa Agueda, built in the 16th century in the renaissance style, and the castle; this building of Moorish origin, was conquered by Fernando III el Santo in 1235 and rises up on a little plateau in the outskirts of the village. It has been declared a Historical Monument.
