A little village located in the heart of the La Loma y Las Villas district, bordering on to Úbeda with which it has a very close relationship. Most of the land is given over to olive growing, and it is important that in Torreperogil the proportion of irrigated and non-irrigated is practically the same, which translates into important final levels of production. There is also a small area give over to vines, producing wines which are known all over the province and making it one of the few villages in Jaén which produces wine. As regards industrial activity, the predominace of the construction sector should be mentioned, active both within the village itself and in the rest of the district, giving it third place in terms of the number of businesses after Úbeda and Baeza. The so-called Torres Oscuras towers, from the 8th century, are worth a visit.
