The city of Úbeda, located in the La Loma y Las Villas district, stands out as one of the most important within the province and best known beyond its borders. Its rich heritage of monuments and culture make it a must on the Renaissance Trail. Public squares, palaces, churches, noble homes... highlight the unique nature of this city, each step of the way. From time immemorial, Úbeda has also had important commercial activity which has developed a wide area of influence, not only within the district, but also on neighbouring towns and districts. To a greater or lesser degree, most production subsectors are represented within its economic activity. Local craftwork really stands out; there are many workshops producing pottery and ceramics, metalwork, woodcarving, stained glass, carpets, esparto grass, stonework, etc. Olive growing also has an important part to play too.
